Every December, I like to pause and look back before I look ahead.
Last year, I did an end-of-year audit that I learned from Mel Robbins. I remember writing things like lose 10 pounds, get stronger, keep prioritizing my health, and—one that mattered more than I realized—do more fun things spontaneously.
Fast forward to now… and here’s what surprised me most when I reread my notes.
I actually followed through on far more than I realized.
Not perfectly. Not consistently every week. But meaningfully.
I did lose the weight I set out to.
I became more mindful about how I fuel myself.
I significantly upped my protein (even if I still need a little nudge to hit my goals).
And I said yes to more last-minute plans, unplanned laughs, and moments that didn’t need to be productive to be worthwhile.
And yes – strength training 3x a week? That one’s back on the list. Progress, not punishment. LOL
What I love most about this kind of reflection is that it’s not about beating yourself up. It’s about noticing what worked, honoring what was hard, and deciding – gently – what comes next.
For anyone curious, here are the simple questions that shaped my reflection (and that I’m about to go through again):
• What were the highlights of the year?
• What were the hardest parts?
• What did you learn about yourself?
• What are you ready to stop doing?
• What do you want to start doing?
• What do you want to continue doing?
• And what’s one small step you can take today?
So I’m curious…
Do you have any traditions for end-of-year reflection or New Year intention-setting?
And what’s one thing on your list as you think about creating a really good 2026?
I’d love to hear what’s rising to the top for you. 💚
